Satrac begins... first day

Satrac is the second shortfilm Space-Time Experiment project and it began shooting on 18th August. It was a hot Sunday in the hills surrounding to Cali. The site is called Altos de Menga.

In this story Dr. Vernemov meets a couple of aliens.

The character of Dr. Vernemov is played in this film by Jean Boris. He's an interior designer and musician. He has a Hip Hop group called Jery Jean. Here you can watch one of his videoclips, Duro.

The Cube

This is a general description of the story of the Cube. Come on! We can create together the story of this mysterious cube:

Dr. John Vernemov worked in a technology company called Golem-ko, working together with his master and mentor, Dr. Ozaki Ozu, in making a teleportation machine. The machine does not work.

John withdraws from Quisoftikus, in principle, after the death of Ozu in a car accident, and because the machine was to be used for industrial espionage and as a weapon of war to invade other countries, and no for tourism.

John discovers that Dr. Ozu managed to run the machine and to travel through space-time; but Ozu is murdered. Vernemov knows that the secret of all is a white cube. He wants to destroy the machine, but is discovered. The machine explodes and scientist travels in space-time. In Quisoftikus believe John dies.

The cube is an object that is present in the films and the characters wish it, because it has powers.

Who is Dr. Vernemov?

This is a general description of the Dr. John Vernemov. Come on! We can create together the story of this character:

Dr. John Vernemov is a scientist of 35 years old, who is in search of a mysterious cube. He has a cybernetic device in the brain that helps you understand and speak any language. He's athletic, has short hair, no congenital defects, not wears glasses and has good health.

His temperament is calm, thoughtful, determined but cautious, witty, optimistic, he thinks before you act and he never seeks to hurt anyone's feelings intentionally. He's determined to get the cube, as long as nobody gets hurt. He cares so much for Humanity and, on several occasions, he will lose the cube for help others.

He's a faithful and trusty man. He's not married, hasn't children and hasn't close relatives. He had few girlfriends: really three and he gets along well with all of them. Currently he hasn't a loving relationship. His last relationship was with a co-worker, Janet Romero, computer engineer.

One reason for discussions with his girlfriends is his excessive dedication to study and work. The research is his passion and before space-time travel, he loved trips to different parts of the world. Most of the time because of labor issues.

He fears he can't get the cube and it'll be a disaster for Humanity.

He’s an only child. John's childhood was normal, but he had not many friends.

Before finishing school, his father loses job and John decides to work in secret, even though he knows that his father will not like. However, not enough money and the debts are stressful to his parents. So he decides to hack the system of a company, but is discovered by his father, who is disappointed in his son and John feels bad. Days later, John wins a full scholarship to study at one of the best universities in the world and want to surprise his parents who are on a business trip. He can not. The airplane, in which his parents come, crashes.

John has no close relatives.

Several years later, Vernemov is a respected scientist in Quisoftikus and is the right hand of Dr. Ozaki Ozu, who plans to make a teleportation machine. But something goes wrong.

Third day of pre-production of "Satrac"

Harold Rodriguez is a friend I've known for several years, he loves to write and he has written scripts for TV shows and theater. He like comedy, so one day I asked him if he was interested in being part of Space-Time Experiment. He answered yes.

 

I thought he'd write a comedy, but he did not. In return he made a strange and interesting story about two aliens who seek something, here on Earth.

These pictures are from the third day of preproduction. There was one trial of dialogues with the actors.

Where is Doctor Vernemov?

Dr. John Vernemov is the main character of Space-Time Experiment and is present in all the films. His presence is through point of view shots (P.O.V. shot or subjective camera), shadows or other shots showing your white coat or gloves, but taking care not to reveal his face, no more details of his clothing. As an example, this image shows a selection of frames of the short film Survivors in which he appears.

Survivors begins

Survivors is the first short film made for Space-Time Experiment and its story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world because of an extra-terrestrial invasion. This short was filmed in two days, June 15 and 16, 2013.

In the story, all the chaos begins with the fall of several meteorites on Earth with an alien virus.

The actors are Elias Bermudez, Ana Torres, Andrés Escobar and Milena Sierra.
